On 11th April 2018, a group of 20 students from EIS specialization and an instructor participated in this visit. As one of our annual activities, the Computing programme organises regular industrial visits for the students to gain valuable experience and insights on the real working environment of a data centre and how it functions.

 Toby Ng, Senior Manager of IT Infrastructure of CTM delivered a presentation to introduce the company’s IT organizational structure, IT operating systems including the Green Data Center, Storage Area Network, and Convergent Rating and Billing System, etc.

Students found this activity interesting, especially when they were given the opportunity to visit a data centre in CTM. CTM is one of the very few data centre players in the territory that possesses technical skills, capabilities and operating experiences that offers a complete spectrum of data centre and managed services.
