Macao Polytechnic Institute visits University of Coimbra in Portugal to attend IEEE International Symposium
A team of researchers from Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) attended and presented academic papers at the world-leading Seventeenth International Symposium on a World of Wireless, Mobile and Multimedia Networks (WoWMoM 2016) which was held at the University of Coimbra in Portugal from 21st to 24th June. During this year’s symposium, the organiser - the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) - announced that the upcoming eighteenth symposium will take place at MPI in 2017. Following MPI’s efforts in the past two years and its subsequent successful bid to host this event, it is expected that over 100 renowned researchers and practitioners worldwide will gather at the Institute next year to promote scientific and academic developments in Macao.

Visit to CTM data center 2016
On April 13 2016, our year-3 and final year students from EIS specialization along with Wilson Ho went for the industry visit to a leading Telecom company in Macao.
In order to enrich students knowledge in the field of enterprise information systems, the manager of IT Infrastructure of CTM, talked in detail with regards to the company’s IT organizational structure, as well as a range of high efficient IT operating system and facilities which include Green Data Center, Storage Area Network (SAN) Convergent System and its benefits to both enterprises and customers.

A field trip to the casino of City of Dream was arranged from 09:00 to 11:30 on Feb. 24 2016. Some staff from HR department has arranged a brief tour to our students, which is followed by a talk about project management in software development and their operational practices. The talk was conducted by Mr. Ridge Xu, the manager in application development branch. The objective of this trip is to experience industrial practices in gaming industry.
